Fares Rizk is a Palestinan - American artist based in New York City. Born in Cairo, Egypt, Rizk attended school in Alexandria. He recalls a youth that allowed him many trips with his parents to Europe and countries on the Mediterranean. Formal art training began at the University of Southern Louisiana, and followed with a Masters of Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design. Today, Fares leads a "bohemian life" in New York, using the subway and living in a small studio in the village. "To be an artist, you need to be away from the chauffeur-driven cars and servants waiting on you hand and foot," he says.
