So, you are new to the city and trying
to meet other Gay and Lesbian Arabs. Here are some ideas of where
to go beyong the bi-weekly GLAS meetings:
-
Factory Cafe on Christopher Street:
This cozy cafe has become a favorite hangout amongst Gay Arabs, specially
those that live in New Jersey due to its proximity to public transportation.
-
Manatus on Bleeker: This 24hr dinner
on Bleeker street also attracts many Gay Arab men specially for brunch
on Sundays.
-
Salam Restaurant on 13th Street and
6th Ave is a nice and elegant Arab restaurant perfect for a nice romantic
date or a calm gathering of friends. Managment is very gay friendly
and the food is delicious.
-
Lips Restaurant on Greenwich and 7th
Ave is a popular daily drag showplace. Wednesday night features
performance by the one and only Sultanah, NYC premier Arab drag queen with
her own followers of cute boys.
-
The Townhouse on Manhatan's Upper East
Side is a haven for a more mature crowd. Closeted UN employees work
the room and try to avoid hustlers. Sugar Daddy/Hummus Queens seekers

-
Splash on 17th street and 6th Ave attracts
many young Arabs on the weekends, primarily from other boroughs.
